  • Wonmuk Hwang, Texas A&m University
  • Mohammad Mofrad

Mechanics and dynamics of biomolecules and cells is a rapidly growing research area that provides conceptual and quantitative grounds upon which a broad range of questions in medicine and life sciences are addressed. Spurred by advances in computer hardware and algorithms, large-scale simulations and computational modeling are playing increasingly important roles for tackling the complexity of the biomechanical phenomena at molecular and cellular scales. This minisymposium covers topics broadly associated with recent developments in these areas. Topics include: molecular dynamics simulation, coarse-grained simulation, and analytical/numerical modeling, applied to either specific biological systems as well as development of computational methodology.
